Who was Lachit Borphukan?

Lachit Borphukan was born on 24th November 1622. In the battle of Saraighat in 1671, under the leadership of general Lachit Borphukan, the Assamese registered a decisive victory against the Mughals, which played a crucial role in protecting the civilization and culture of Assam State. Lachit Borphukan is the brightest star in Assam’s history full of courage, valor, Sacrifice, and patriotism. Lachit Borphukan was appointed as the Commander and The Borphukan of the Ahom army by Chakradhwaj Singha. He died on 25 April 1672. The Assam Government is celebrating the 400th birth anniversary of the Lachit borphukan this year.

What is The Lachit Borphukan App?

The chief minister of Assam Shri Hemanta Biswa Sarma Launched the Lachit borphukan app on 26 October 2022 to endeavor to pay tribute to the great national Hero of India. The Assam Government is celebrating the 400th birth anniversary of Lachit borphukan this year. Hence Government of Assam Launched this app to involve people in Writing an essay about the Lachit borphukan, the legendary general of the ahom kingdom.

The candidate whose article is selected will be provided a certificate by the Government of Assam and their Essay will be Published in government Magazines. People will be able to share their thoughts on the commander by writing in a prescribed format or on white plain paper.

Online Registration can be done through the Portal as well as the Mobile app. The steps to Lachit Borphukan Portal Online Registration are given below:

• You can download the app to register there or you can also register on the portal.

 The Government of Assam stated in the press conference that there are three formats available for essay writing.

1. Pre-formatted Booklet: A pre-formatted book will be available at the District authority. Applicants can get free of cost from the District authority.
2. Plain Paper: Applicants can also use plain paper to write the essay about the Warrior and can upload it from the app.
3. Online: Applicants can use the Google docs app or any other app to write Online. They can upload the article on the Portal.
